How do I create a photo book using Contac Photo Books?
The first step is to download our easy to use software. On the home page of the site, click on one of the Download buttons based on your operating system or platform. The software consists of an executable file of about 45 MB in size for Windows and 68 MB in size for Mac. Once the software has downloaded, click on “Create a New Project”. Then choose your product and click next.
How do I add pictures to a new project?
Click on the “+” symbol at the top left under the word “Pictures”. This will allow you to browse the folders on your computer for the desired images.
How does one insert pictures into a particular page layout?
Drag and drop the picture by left clicking over it in the Pictures column and carrying it across to the intended layout. When the image is over the picture box that you desire, the outline of the box will turn blue and you may release it into the box.
How do I change the number of pictures on a page?
There are several ways to accomplish this. You can left click on an image box and hit the delete button on your keyboard. You may also right click over an image box and then choose delete from the drop down menu. Also, you can apply a new page style to a page: click on the “Page Styles” tab, then drag and drop a new layout to the desired page.
How can I further customize one of the layout templates?
Click on the “Add Picture Box” or “Add Text Box” icons found just below the window showing your page-by-page layout. For more choices, click on “Insert” from the top left menu.
How do I add my own background image to a page?
Click on the “Backgrounds” tab in the bottom center frame. Then click the sun-shaped icon in the far right. Click on “Add” from the drop down menu; this will open a new window which will allow you to navigate to your own image. Once you select an image, it will appear within the “Backgrounds” tab next to the existing background images. To use the image, drag and drop it to the desired page. To remove it from that page, right click over the background on the page and click “Clear Background”.
How do I ensure that I always have the latest version of the photo book software?
From the starting page of Contac Photo Books, click on “Create a New Project” and then click “Check for Updates”. If you are already working within a project, click on File then Preferences and check off the box that says “Automatically Check for Updates”. Keeping your software updated is important because we will be regularly adding new features and functionalities.
If I am not yet finished with my photo book but need to continue the project at another date or time, can I save it and come back to it later?
Yes, simply click on the “Save” icon found just below the window showing your page-by-page layout. Or click “File” from the top left menu and click “Save”. The next time you launch the Contac Photo Books software, it will allow you to click on “Open an Existing Project”.
Is the file containing my photo book saved online or with Contac Photo Books?
Your personal photo book is saved on your own computer within a folder called “Contac Photo Books Projects”.
